I have so many memories of dabbling in yoga with my sisters at my grandparents’ farm, in our bedroom listening to Pink Floyd in the early 80's, and classes at the local college while pregnant with my daughter; but I've been practicing and studying steadily since my best friend literally saved my life by dragging me to a yoga class in 1999. That year I was suffering from stress-induced panic attacks so severe they kept me from driving. My body was also suffering from other stress-induced conditions including severe joint pain and fatigue. I’m completely convinced that I would have encountered serious life-threatening health challenges had I remained on the path of not caring for myself. Over time, a sustained yoga practice allowed my body and mind to begin to heal and I’ve been able to enjoy an extraordinary level of health and vitality. When I began to realize how simple and powerful yoga is, I started looking for a way to deepen my understanding of why.

This led me to complete a comprehensive 500-hour teacher training program in 2007 at the Yoga Shala of Portland, and after much consideration, I decided to begin teaching. Through my ongoing studies, particularly with my primary teacher Chase Bossart of the Yoga Well Institute in San Francisco, I’ve attended over 1,000 hours of training.

Always wanting to go deeper in my healing process, I received training for holistic nutrition at the Wellspring School for the Healing Arts in 2015.

As a student, I consider myself to be at the very tip of a lifelong study of yoga and whole foods nutrition, continuing to deepen my experience and striving each day to apply the principles of yoga to my own life.

As a teacher, I’m dedicated to the creation of a profoundly peaceful, healthy, and spiritually awakened community, and to empowering its members to discover the sacred vitality and wholeness already within them. I consider it such an honor, and my greatest joy, to share what I'm learning with others through therapeutic individual sessions, group classes, and workshops.
